I returned to Photography as a hobby in June 2019 after a 20 year absence, so high end digital cameras and digital post-processing were all new to me. I initially attended one of Richard's classes as part of Goosfest and found the day fun, interesting and educational. From that experience, I started to attend one of Richard's weekly group sessions. I've learnt a huge amount about digital post-processing, enjoyed interesting photographic assignments and met a great bunch of people, all thanks to Richard's classes. I’ve also had the opportunity to go into the studio with Richard and participate in a studio masterclass with a professional model. Something I don’t think I would have done on my own. I would highly recommend Richard and Weston Digital Imaging to anyone who wants to push the boundaries of their photography.

I enrolled to a class run by Richard to improve my photography knowledge and skills. I was relatively new to photography.
He was very welcoming from the very beginning and is mindful to integrate individuals within a class (the class I've joined has varied in size over time 10-15 people). I've been a member of a class for approx 2-3 years and I now regard those people as friends who share a passion for photography.

He's very patient as regards explanation and skilled at schooling people in the application of techniques to create (including post production). Over the time I've been taught by Richard I've been very impressed with the collective progress of the class - some amazing work. My photography has improved so much but so has my appreciation of photographic art.

What sets Richard apart is how much thought he puts into the class and associated projects and his infectious enthusiasm. The projects have been a brilliant vehicle to learn. His classes are never anything less than great fun. It's not just the quality of the information but the can-do spirit which prevails.

Due to COVID we went from classroom to ZOOM based meetings - Richard's mastery of the technology and his spirit of embracing online class is really very impressive.

I joined one of Richards photography classes in Autumn 2019 and it has been one the best decisions I made. His enthusiasm, professionalism and skill as both a photographer and teacher has been superb, particularly when faced with conducting most of the last year's photography classes over Zoom. For this he provided expert video tutorials and set us challenging assignments that have stretched us both technically and creatively. As a result my photography has improved greatly. He has encouraged us to try new aspects of photography, some of which I would never have considered trying. From photographing oil on water, glasses using coloured lighting, panning, self portraiture, macabre photography, product photography, shoes, food, night time lighting/long exposure, video, pictorialism and fine art to name just a few, he takes us outside of our comfort zones and stretches us as photographers. He has provided masterclasses in editing which, for someone who never considered editing before, has transformed my photography. He has also conducted fine art masterclasses in the studio, in which we gained an invaluable understanding of studio lighting and working with a model. All of this has been achieved in a friendly supportive, non-judgemental environment. I cannot praise Richard highly enough as the weekly classes have been a real highlight in a difficult year. I look forward to many more challenges and fun as we head into the light during 2021.

Richard Weston has reawakened my interest in photography by encouraging my creativity to a level far beyond just taking a good photograph. He is supportive to very member in the photography class I attend and as I have carried on with the interesting, challenging and informative group classes throughout the last 12 months via Zoom, the progress I have made in the 'art' is patently visible when I look back at my previous work. Weston Digital Imaging recently did our 'Meet the Team' photo shoot for our new website (Venturi Group). The final images were fantastic and fit well with the clean and crisp new site design. We had some specific requirements and a clear vision in mind as to what we wanted. The photographer (Richard) was very accommodating and went out of his way to understand the look and feel we were going for. The whole team were very pleased with the way the photos turned out.
